Acutec stole the spotlight at the Manufacturing PA Innovation Program Expo on April 5, 2024, in Harrisburg, PA, with a groundbreaking robot system that wowed attendees with its superior mobility and user-friendliness. Honored as one of Pennsylvania’s top three manufacturing innovators alongside AiMiLi Inc. and EnerSys, Acutec seized the opportunity to showcase its commitment to advancing manufacturing technology. The event also spotlighted the dynamic collaboration between Acutec and Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.
The highlight of Acutec’s showcase was its advanced robot system, designed for rapid deployment with remarkable mobility and ease of use. Featuring cutting-edge 3D robotic guided vision technology and a versatile mobile platform, the system integrates seamlessly with various CNC machines, enabling unattended operation. This innovation was bolstered by Acutec’s in-house communication system, which pairs effortlessly with any CNC machine.
Adam Dunn, Acutec’s Automation Engineer, represented the company at the event with Mark Rubeo, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Penn State Behrend, and Tyler Shearer, a former Acutec intern now studying mechanical engineering at Penn State Behrend. Shearer highlighted the success of the state grant and the fruitful partnership during the Manufacturing Fellows Panel and the Student Poster Session.
Dunn’s interactions with students and key members of the PA grant community underscored the value of state grants in bridging the gap between emerging talent and industry needs. “Grants like these are vital,” Dunn noted. “They not only provide essential resources for manufacturers but also offer valuable real-world experience for the next generation of engineers.” Through these efforts, Acutec continues to drive manufacturing innovation and foster the growth of future industry leaders.
