In order to efficiently run and expand at Acutec Precision Aerospace, we need a strong team to help manage our progress. Mackenzi Ferenchak, a Forensic Accounting Student at Edinboro University, is part of this team. As an intern for the Finance Department, Mackenzi helps with invoicing, special projects, and administrative tasks. Following university, Mackenzi hopes to work for an international accounting firm to pursue travel while completing her business. Mackenzi is aware of the benefits of interning at Acutec—her experience here helps her build a financial background and gain more knowledge in her field.
Mackenzi’s summer here at Acutec has felt very intentional and rewarding. Her favorite part of the internship is the applicability of her work. She loves that she’s both learning things that she will use in her career, as well as exercising the skills she’s learned in the school. This summer, she’s had an insight on how the money flows through Acutec and how each position works together to run a business financially. Furthermore, she’s gained a knowledge of the manufacturing industry and cultivated an understanding of how many moving parts make up a business like Acutec. Additionally, she feels Acutec appreciates the work she has completed this summer,
“The most rewarding experience from working here is seeing that the work I’m doing is beneficial to the company.”
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors—she loves water-skiing, paddle boarding, fishing, playing with her dog, and shopping. As for her favorite aircraft, The Boeing AH-6 fascinates her. For her advice to future interns, she encourages to keep an open mind,
“Be open to doing new things, because you never know where it will lead!”
